A photography gallery opened in Kensington last week with
a promise to provide a taste of India to visitors
The Kare Kare Indian Restaurant in
Old Brompton Road launched its first exhibition on Thursday.
A collection of intimate shots of the bustling streets of
India, taken by renowned freelance photographer Steven Lee.
Sally Gould, spokesman for Kare Kare,
named after the owner's favourite beach in New Zealand, said:
"His photographic style stems from an interest in the |
photo-documentary image though he is increasingly
experimenting with the abstract and fine art realm"
Candid street portraits are placed
near to abstract images of religious followers to project
the spiritual nature of India.
Staff intend to display new work every
three months.
Visitors do not have to eat at the
restaurant but staff ask that people view between 5:30pm and
7pm
